Spicers Tamarind Retreat’s restaurant, The Tamarind, brings a taste of Thailand to the foothills of Maleny.
Set in a tranquil outdoor pavilion designed to make the most of the peaceful location, The Tamarind specialises in innovative modern Asian cuisine. Every dish with its harmonious balance of Thai flavours of sweet, sour and spicy will leave your mouth watering and your stomach begging for more. From nee grob (three caramelised meats with crispy fried noodles), to a green curry of yellow tail kingfish with Thai apple eggplant, and a delicious dessert medley featuring sweet yam pudding, coconut ice cream and coconut lime tart, The Tamarind’s ever-changing menu and perfectly matched wines make this a true gourmet destination for both in-house guests and the general public alike.
Fully licensed restaurant now open for dinner, Tuesday to Sunday and lunch, Friday to Sunday. Open to guests and non-guests.

Coming to The Tamarind at Spicers Tamarind Retreat from his position as head chef at Ebb Waterfront Dining & Cellar, Daniel puts his own touch to classic Thai dishes while still respecting the fresh flavours and use of local produce. It’s a style he calls “modern Asian”. Daniel and his team embrace the flavours, philosophies and the unique culinary cultures of Asia, while using locally raised ingredients whenever possible.
