European-inspired, locally-sourced

The Long Apron Restaurant

From a croissant on the sun drenched terrace, to a degustation menu shared with someone you love in the dining room, The Long Apron offers a unique taste of Europe in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. With acclaimed chef, Cameron Matthews, at the helm, The Long Apron has made Spicers Clovelly Estate a must-do destination for foodies from around Australia.

Style

The Long Apron at Spicer’s Clovelly Estate is a unique dining experience not unlike a fabulous night at the theatre.  Here, degustation menus of many exquisite acts are designed to take you on a journey that will tantalize, entertain, excite, and delight.  An enviable range of fine international & local wines together with friendly, experienced staff, offering personal service and an elegant, European inspired dining room, all come together to create the perfect experience.

Dishes change with the seasons, but followers will always find plates that showcase fine produce characterised by flavour, balance and complexity as well as intricate and elegant presentation.

Settings

Guests may choose to be immersed in the beautiful changes an unfolding day at Spicers Clovelly Estate can offer. Enjoy a drink at the bar and the cosy fireplace. Dine not only in the Restaurant, but al fresco on the Terrace, or a larger group may enjoy the Chef’s Table experience where they will witness as well as converse with the kitchen team in action.

Executive Chef

The Long Apron is an apt name for a restaurant headed by renowned chef, Cameron Matthews, who brings his tall 6’8 inches of talent, creativity and humour to this fabulous experience.  A happier chef could not be found as he has the best seasonal produce the Sunshine Coast Hinterland can offer him, a dedicated brigade, a kitchen garden that grows avidly in the rich volcanic Range soil and a stunning location to wield his magic from.

Cooking school

Cameron and his experienced team also conduct cooking classes every fortnight based around French, Italian and Market Food themes.  These classes include demonstration and hands-on time in Cameron’s commercial kitchen, lunch and wine with the chef who will answer those burning questions, a take home pack of recipes and tips, as well as a Long Apron branded apron to remember your experience. Groups are limited to eight only and special groups can be accommodated upon request.

Weddings

Cameron and his team are also able to offer a unique wedding experience for those wanting an intimate and memorable occasion to mark their special day.  In depth consultation directly with the Chef ensures a personalised, tailored menu which is sure to impress even the most discerning guests.

Opening hours

The Long Apron is open to the public for dinner 6 days a week (closed Tuesday) and lunch on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Breakfast is now available every day from 8:00am to 10:00am. Guests and non-guests are welcome, though bookings are recommended.  Please tell our friendly staff about any special dietary requirements on booking.
